ROCA ARCTICA : a contemplative sculpture for horses (and people)

This sculpture, will provide a point of contemplation, reflection and inspiration for horses and people, bringing its intrinsic “otherworldly” arctic energy, the essence of Finnmark, south to Goléga.

Roca Arctica has recently been broken free from its geo-position in the lithosphere (bedrock) near Kautokeino in the north of Norway, where it has been dwelling since the Eucaryote revolution (evolution) some 1.500.000.000. years ago.

Magnetism, as seen in the waves of Aurora Borealis, is echoed in the green waves of meandering chromium patterns revealing its charge. It is as if the northern light is impressed in the stone’s core.

The Danish/Norwegian mineralogist and preacher Henrik Steffens found the “inner life of stone” (the spiritual realms of the Lito-sphere) to be a gateway to deeper levels of mind, time, and space. In a mind-scape where intention and metaphor crisscross at socio-synaptic junctions, an ongoing meta-morphological creation of new meaning is manifested in a series of unpredictable enigmatic phenomena. Fenomeno do Entroncamento.
